Art Works is a year-long programme for unemployed 16-19 year olds to work with a professional artist to develop art skills and achieve a national qualification, Arts Award

Twice-weekly artist-led workshops take inspiration from The Fruitmarket Gallery’s exhibition programme and support young people in developing confidence and creative skills through making new work.

The opportunity is available for young people to remain with the programme for a year, although young people may attend for shorter terms and may be referred to the programme after the official start date.

Sessions take place on Mondays and Fridays, 2–4pm, from 1 October 2012–25 October 2013, with scheduled breaks throughout the year.

The programme is free and travel costs, refreshments and materials are provided.
