Professor Margaret Iversen (University of Essex) considers the tension in Orozco’s work between the abstract or diagrammatic on the one hand, and the trace or residue on the other.

The Fruitmarket Gallery welcomes all new and returning students to Edinburgh with this invitation to enjoy the exhibition out of hours. Admission on presentation of a valid student card.
Systems and Movement
Tuesday 15 October, 11am–5pm. Free.
12 places for 14–17 year olds.
Led by artist Kate MacKay, this workshop responds to the exhibition through mark making, animation, painting and sculpture.
Community Group Workshops
Two-hour sessions, in your setting and the Gallery.
Max. 12 places per session.
Take part in artist-led workshops based around the exhibition, the sessions include making, looking at and talking about art.

A tour of the exhibition with assistive listening devices, for visitors who are hard of hearing.

A tour of the exhibition specifically designed for visually impaired visitors, including detailed descriptions of Gabriel Orozco’s work and practice. Group visits are free and include an introduction to the exhibition. Booking is essential.
